Linda Edna Cardellini is the daughter of Lorraine (Hernan), a mother, as well as Wayne David Cardellini (a father) who is who is a businessman. She studied at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama and began her acting career on the British television series Just William (2010). After her success in the role of Lady Rose MacClare on the period drama Downton Abbey from 2012 to 2015 Her first big break was in the fantasy movie Cinderella in the year 2015. James later played the the Countess Natasha Rostova on the TV version of War & Peace in 2016. She has also starred in a variety of films, including Baby Driver (2017) and period dramas Darkest Hour (2017) and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society 2018 and The Dig 2021, as in the musicals Mamma Mia! We're Going To Again (2019) and Yesterday (2018). Pam & Tommy, a biographical TV series that is based on the life of Pamela Anderson (released in 2022) has earned her nominations for Golden Globe Award winner and the Primetime Emmy Award.
